With this mission we offer a variety of opportunities to communities for expanded development and experience.
Master Classes:
A fun yet challenging introduction to contemporary dance. Developed for all levels and abilities basic exercises will be taught and phrases from actual choreography performed by the company learned.
Lecture / Demonstration:
A closer look into the daily life and career of a dancer. Discussing and demonstrating for audiences the training and rehearsal process for dancers, choreographers and Artistic Directors. Compositional or choreographic tools will be introduced and demonstrated as used in the work performed by the company. Members of the audience will participate and be able to try some of the concepts using our dancers. A short performance of some of the company work will be offered.
Meets and Greets:
Generally preceding a performance with the Artistic Director this is a great opportunity to meet with the audience to discuss their appreciation of dance and art and to thank them for their support.
Pre and Post Performance Discussions:
A lovely opportunity particularly after performances to engage the audience in a discussion of their experience watching the work, asking the dancers personal questions about themselves and getting a more direct and important opportunity to meet our audience and get to know them well.
Local Dancer Participation in Performances:
To work with local aspiring dancers and develop opportunities to incorporate them into our performances adding them to a work on a program especially after having seen them in a master class offered by the company. As many as seem interested from the community are welcomed whenever possible where it compliments the work and gives the aspiring dancer a performance opportunity, training and rehearsing with a visiting professional company.
