Peter G. Kalivas (Artistic Director, Choreographer)
Previously he has worked with more than fifteen companies and various independent artists around the world including Judith Jamison (Current Director of The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre), Donald Byrd (New York), The Bavarian State Opera Ballet (Munich), Malashock Dance & Company (San Diego), The Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre, Jessica Iwanson (Sweden), Freespace Dance (New Jersey), Gwinnie Sax (London) and The Tumbuka Dance Company (Zimbabwe) to name a few. An equally respected choreographer and teacher to festivals and companies he has taught and or had work presented at New York University, The International Dance Festival (New York), The California Institute of the Arts (Los Angeles), REDCAT The Sharon Disney Lund Dance Series (Los Angeles), Dance Platform Turkey (Ankara), The Stamping Ground Dance Festival (Australia), Festival de Cerventino (Mexico), Festival D'Avignon (France) The New World School of the Arts (Miami), Celebrazione della Musica e Arte (Italy), Kyung Hee University (Seoul, S. Korea), The Florida Dance Festival (Miami), The Turkish Theatre Festival (Istanbul) and Tsoying School for the Performing Arts (Taiwan) among many others.
A specialist in dance for The Department of Education and Culture (ACULPSEC) to the U.S. he traveled to Kazakhstan in 2003 marking the first American choreographic presence there in ten years. A Fulbright Scholar in Dance Education additionally he is the recipient of many awards and fellowships for his work including 2003's "BRIO" Award (Bronx, New York), an Independent Artist Fellowship from The Florida Council for the Arts, an Astral Career and Development Grant from The Endowment for the Arts, A CECARTS Fellowship for projects in Eurasia, a Tommy Award for Excellence in Performance and the highest award from The Panoply Festival for Choreographic Achievement among others.
Currently he continues to perform as a guest artist of companies Nationally and Internationally, creates work for companies as well as his own “The PGK Project (A Contemporary Dance Company) and teaches workshops and master classes worldwide.
